Last year, Barnard's Mill and Art Museum was designated as a State Archeological Landmark. From humble beginnings as a water-powered gristmill in 1869 to a steam powered burr mill, Barnard's Mill sold for $10 and was converted into a cotton gin in 1895. Later, the facility was used as a health spa complete with mineral waters, a hospital and a clinic and today a museum. It still stands, welcoming visitors with its historic charm.
